Adoption, Fostering & Special Guardianship Orders

As a Barnardo’s Link Therapist, I am registered with Ofsted to work with children and young people who are affected by adoption. I am also trained to work with all individuals within the Adoption Triangle- birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees, as well as supporting those involved in Fostering and Special Guardianship Orders.

For those involved in Adoption, a wide range of emotions and feelings are often experienced at different stages along the journey. As an Attachment Focused Therapist (AFT), I am trained to offer adoptive parents & families support as they process the highs and lows of assessment, matching panel, initial introductions and post placement life, which often brings the trials & joys of Therapeutic & PACE parenting.

Fostering and Special Guardianship brings its own joys and challenges, whether that be the joy of taking in new children, the business and exhaustion of new family life or the confusion around a change in personal role & identity.
